Scitech Korea Young Investigator Award

The Scitech Korea Young Investigator Award recognizes and supports outstanding early-career neuroscientists who have demonstrated exceptional research achievements and contributed to the advancement of brain and neural sciences. The award aims to highlight the accomplishments of emerging independent researchers establishing their academic excellence and research leadership, while encouraging continued scientific innovation.

Fostering early-career investigators is a core value of the Korean Society for Brain and Neural Sciences (KSBNS). Through this award, KSBNS seeks to promote the research accomplishments of promising young investigators, support their development into future global leaders, and encourage active collaboration within the international scientific community.
Eligibility

Candidates must:


  • Be KSBNS members within seven years of their first faculty appointment in Korea who demonstrate exceptional growth potential as neuroscientists.
Submission Materials
  • Letter of recommendation or self-nomination statement (KSBNS-designated form)
  • Curriculum vitae (free format)
  • Summary of achievements (free format – including research accomplishments, publications, awards, and academic/society activities within the past five years)
  • Supporting documents (copies of the first pages of representative publications and registered patents; technology transfer agreements or certificates of technology transfer; and other supporting materials listed in the application)
  • All application materials must be combined into a single PDF file and submitted via email to the KSBNS Secretariat at neuro@ksbns.org.

Selection Process
  • Candidates will be evaluated comprehensively by the KSBNS Awards Committee based on research achievements, academic activities, and contributions to the Society.
  • Final recipients will be selected through approval by the KSBNS Executive Committee.
  • One male and one female recipient will be selected, for a total of two awardees.
Prize
  • Plaque and a cash prize of KRW 2,000,000
  • Invitation to deliver an award lecture at the KSBNS Annual Meeting
